June Drawing Classes

Monday Evenings at the Clark County Public Library: June 1, 8, 15, 22 at 6:30 pm Taught by Rebecca Chamberlain

Drawing for beginners is designed for anyone who has ever wanted to learn the basics of drawing. The four week summer class will begin with exercises designed to train your eye and hand as well as inspire your imagination. Students will learn about shapes, shading, contour drawing, and negative space. This class will be a step-by-step introduction to drawing and is well suited for people with little or no drawing background as well as for artists who might like a refresher course in what Michelangelo called, “the foundation of all art.” When you sign up, please ask for the list of supplies you will need. The instructor will provide all drawing handouts and additional tools.

Local artist Rebecca Chamberlain has taught private drawing classes in Winchester for fourteen years. Her drawings and paintings can be found in private collections in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, and Arkansas. Rebecca is co-founder and President of the Winchester Drawing Society.

This class is free and open to the public, but participation is limited to 12, so you must register to attend. Register at 859-744-5661.

Thank You!

The WDS would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to John Maruskin and the rest of the staff at the Clark County Public Library for welcoming the group with open arms.

Our first official group exhibit was a great success and very well received by the public. We would also like to thank everyone who made a special trip to see the show and left such encouraging comments in the guest book. As artists, we put our souls out for the world to see and critique so to be embraced by the community is humbling and truly an honor. We look forward to future exhibits at the Clark County library and other venues in the surrounding areas. Please check the blog as we will post all up and coming shows on this site.

Again, Thank YOU!
